**WRESTLING Season UPDATE **

Our number one priority is always the safety of our athletes and their families, all of our coaches, and the entire wrestling community.

With that in mind, the HVWC board met recently to discuss the situation concerning COVID-19 and based on current info from the medical community and our government agencies, NJISAA, Parent Survey, Pre-registration, as well as our league members in the CJYWL and KOM, our board came to a conclusion.

HVWC has decided to cancel the 2020-21 season, all of its events and activities associated it.

This decision was not easy and taken with tremendous consideration. More info and alternatives for those wishing to pursue wrestling this season can be found on our website: newprovidencepal.org/wrestling.

Thank you for your continued support of HVWC. We look forward to resuming our wrestling journey in the fall of 2021. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Registration for 2021 Spring Softball Now Open on Community Pass!

PAL Softball is a travel softball program, competing against surrounding towns in the area. Game schedules will not be available until after teams are formed and leagues create schedules.

8U, 10U, 12U and 14U:

Teams are now forming for 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U age groups. Cost of the season is $125 per player.

Practices typically take place two times per week during the weekdays in the evening and are based on field and coach availability. Games can be scheduled during the week and on some weekends (double headers could be a possibility).
Leagues do their best to provide approximate ten game schedules with play-offs. The season will run from mid- April through mid- June.

The 8U program is coach pitch to allow the girls to learn the game. Kid pitch begins at 10U. Please see the age guideline below:
8U - 8 or younger as of 12/31/20
10U - 10 or younger as of 12/31/20
12U - 12 or younger as of 12/31/20
14U - 14 or younger as of 12/31/20

Middle School Team (Grades 7 and 8):

We are also pleased to announce that this spring there will be a PAL Middle School Team offered for 7th and 8th grade girls which will be led by our new head coach Alyssa Hammer, former player to our own former coach Heather Bergman and member of Governor Livingston’s 2017 State Championship team.
Practices for this team will take place after school at Salt Brook Elementary and games will be played after school as well against surrounding middle schools. We especially encourage girls who believe they would like to continue playing in high school to go out for this team! Please register on Community Pass as indicated but also e-mail Karen Gaeta should your daughter be interested in the Middle School Team. This team is separate from the 12U/ 14U teams which play in the evenings and participate in league play. You need not do both but can if interested.
Evaluations for each age group will be based on the number of registrants. The program will abide by CDC Co-Vid guidelines and any other safety precautions put forth by the leagues we play in.

Registration ends February 14th. No group indoor winter training will be offered this year by the program.

Please contact Karen Gaeta with any questions: kgaeta10@yahoo.com
