LAST CALL!!!! Fall Softball Registration closes 8/13!
Registration is now open for Girls’ Fall Travel PAL Softball ( 8U through 12U players) on New Providence Community Pass!
14U eligible players please see below for specifics.
Fall League Play: Long Hill League; with one to two weekday practices in New Providence (as decided per Head Coach’s schedule/field availability)
Games: Scheduled typically on Saturdays but could be some Friday evenings - most often one game per week.
Timing: Fall season runs September- end of October. The Long Hill League is considered a “play-up” league which means this is the time for teams advancing to the next level to hone in on their skills and become familiar with rule changes on that level to prepare for spring. Cost: $125 per player
Coaching: Those interested in coaching fall softball must register on New Providence Community Pass under “PAL Volunteer Softball Coach” at no cost. This must be done every season, even if you are a returning coach and have done so previously. We will need a Head Coach for the younger 10U team this season.
- All volunteers will be considered and the Commissioner will reach out before practices begin on further steps to take involving the coaching process should your help be needed.
**Calling All Female Coaches!**
Moms, aunts, grandmothers, grown siblings, etc. - we need your help! It is a major goal of PAL Softball to have at least one female volunteer coach on each and every team. Be a mentor for our girls!
Please sign up as soon as possible. Once an age level fills, a waitlist will be started with the hope that we have enough for a second team at that level. Since this is a play-up league, 8U players will be placed on a 10U beginner roster this fall.
*14U eligible players: please contact Karen Gaeta directly if interested in playing. We may be able to place those interested on another nearby town team as we will not have enough eligible players to form our own 14U team.
Enjoy the remainder of the summer - see you back on the diamond soon! Go Pioneers! ... See MoreSee Less

- Act as commissioner for a large summer baseball league during the months of May, June, and July
- Communicate with many New Jersey towns regarding team registration
- Create competitive divisions and levels for between 150-200 teams at ages between 7u and 13u baseball.
- Generate schedules for the League and monitoring schedules and standings
- Reply to emails as needed; adjust schedules, and answer rule questions.
- Order and distribute shirts and trophies to winners
- Encourage and facilitate friendly, developmental competition amongst the league’s member towns.
The months that most work is required are March through July. The remainder of the calendar year is “down time.”
